Aaron asked for his change in fives and tens, and then, spotting the box of donuts on the counter behind the teller, laughed and said, “I’d also like a donut to go, please!” To Aaron’s surprise (along with his receipt and cash) he got a glazed cake donut wrapped up neatly in a paper napkin.
But that’s not where this story ends - Later that day, Aaron came back with a card for our tellers, thanking them for their kindness that morning. Life had been tough lately, and to Aaron that pastry was more than just a donut. It was a reminder that there are still people in the world that genuinely care, and that sometimes, a simple act of kindness can make the biggest difference.

We don't have a branch in Alaska, but for Emprise customer Jim, that’s not a problem.

It means a lot to us that Bob chose us to be his bank, and every morning, he’d come in to our Haysville branch, enjoy a cup of coffee, and chat with our team. (We should mention our coffee – it’s fantastic! Come try some!)
Then Bob’s schedule changed, and he didn’t have time to come in every morning. We saw him come through the drive-thru a few weeks later and asked he was doing. He said he was great, but he sure missed his morning coffee.
We couldn’t change Bob’s schedule, but we could make his morning brighter … with a cup of coffee delivered through the Commercial drawer in the drive thru! Cheers, Bob. Have a great day!
As customers were coming and going like normal, the smell of smoke filtered into the lobby. Outside, smoke could be seen coming from a house just a few doors down from Emprise Bank. Two Emprise bankers immediately went down the block and discovered that a neighbor's lawn had caught fire and was quickly closing in on the home.
With the homeowner's permission, their children were brought to the safety of Emprise Bank by one of the bankers. The second banker (who was also a volunteer firefighter) quickly hooked up a garden hose. The fire had spread to the front porch before the fire department had the blaze under control.
We take tremendous pride in being a community bank, and we love to help people with their financial needs (even if that means putting out more than financial fires). We treat everyone like a neighbor, whether you live two doors down or across the country.
We believe in going the extra mile for our customers. A prime example was when Susan, an Emprise banker, made a trip to the bank after hours following a phone call from a worried client. The customer had misplaced a check she’d written when she was out of town for her nephew’s graduation.
As it turned out, everything was fine with her account, and the check was later found and returned to our customer.

One of our greatest priorities is to protect you and your accounts. It’s a responsibility we take seriously. We’re prepared when we see that something’s just not right, and that's what happened when Doug walked into our branch with a check he’d received from selling his car online.
The buyer was from Texas, the envelope was postmarked California, the phone number was from Florida, and the check was written for more than the purchase price. Things just didn’t add up to Kim, an Emprise Personal Banker.
“Let me look into this before we try to deposit it,” Kim said. “I would feel better with confirmation that this buyer is legit.”
Because of Kim’s quick thinking, we were able to verify that the funds were from a closed account before Doug shipped his car to the “buyer.” Kim saved the day… and Doug's money.
