Emprise Empowers Hannah

Hannah's Story

At Emprise Bank, we make a big deal out of better - for our customers, our communities, and ouselves. We make an effort to give back to the communities we serve and to be generous with our time in order to make a difference in people's lives.

We recently asked our employees to share a time when they felt empowered to give back, to do the right thing, or to make a difference somehow in the lives of those around them.

Here's Hannah Brown's Story:

“I’ve been a part of CITF/Pride Iola since January of 2015. CITF/Pride Iola is a group that strives on bettering the community. In the past we’ve been responsible for a building a nine-hole disc golf course, repainting buildings, and creating veteran banners to hang around the square. We noticed surrounding communities have flower pots or flower towers around their town square. We decided as a group that flower pots would be a nice addition to the town square. I was lucky enough to have the day off when the group decided to plant the flowers. I told the group immediately I’d be willing to help.

I could have sat on the couch and binged on my new favorite TV series, but instead I decided to volunteer and help better my community. I try and volunteer as much as possible, even if I don't have as much free time as I used to. I’m a new mom, a full-time teller at Emprise and am getting ready to go back to school full-time. Even with my full work load, I make the time to give back because I want to show my daugther the importance of showing respect for her community. I also want her to offer help when help is needed no matter how busy she might be. I think it’s important that everyone try and volunteer if they can, even if it’s for something small. Maybe we could make the world a better place. I’m thankful Emprise is a company that is proactive and wants their employees to be proactive as well.”
