EMPRISE BANK ANNOUNCED AS WICHITA WIND SURGE’S FIRST LEGACY PARTNER

The Wichita Wind Surge baseball team and Emprise Bank jointly announced the team’s first Legacy Partnership at a press conference on Friday, November 15, at 9:00 AM. The milestone announcement was the first official event at the site of the new, state-of-the-art stadium currently under construction on the banks of the Arkansas River on McLean Blvd.

Emprise Bank Chairman & CEO Matt Michaelis along with Lou Schwechheimer, Managing General Partner of Wichita Wind Surge and members of both organizations were on hand to celebrate the announcement.

“It’s an important moment in the growth of our City and Wichita Baseball is a key contributor to that momentum,” said Michaelis. “Having Triple-A baseball and other entertainment events in a world-class venue on the riverfront will be significant catalyst of our entire region.  We are proud to be partnering with such a dedicated, loyal and experienced ownership group.”

Media and guests were among the first to see the recent construction progress up close as well as partake in a ribbon cutting ceremony along the crushed lava rock warning track adjacent to the recently installed playing field.

“Matt Michaelis was literally the first person to welcome the team and the Pacific Coast League to this great community,” said Schwechheimer. “Matt and the entire Emprise Bank family have a deep commitment to our community and we are thrilled that together we will create a family gathering place for generations to come.”

The announcement of Emprise Bank as the first Legacy Partner comes just two days after the Wichita Wind Surge unveiled its new identity including the name, colors and logo on November 13.
