Overdraft Description

We want to inform you of the overdraft coverage available in the event funds do not exist in your checking account to cover a purchase or transaction. We have options for how these transactions can be covered:

Overdraft Privilege: We strive to pay check and auto draft items for you when funds are not available in your account. When an account has non-sufficient funds (NSF), a fee is charged for every item whether it is paid or returned. It is the obligation of the institution to operate in accordance with all safety and soundness standards. Therefore, a continual evaluation is performed to determine if it is financially sound to honor items that may cause an overdraft situation. The account criteria evaluated are:

  • Age of account
  • Deposit balances and regularity
  • Previous overdraft activity
  • Account status relating to legal or administrative order of levy
  • Status of loan obligations with the bank

Overdraft Privilege is a discretionary service and may be withdrawn or withheld by us at any time, without prior notice. It is also optional. If you would like to decline the service, please contact a Customer Service Representative.

Account Transfer: We can set up a transfer from a savings, money market or separate checking account, and funds will be transferred to cover the transaction that would overdraw your account. There is a fee for that transfer; however, it is less than overdraft fees/charges.

We are not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient collected funds. We may refuse to pay an item for you at any time, even if we may have previously paid it for you. You will be notified of any NSF items paid or returned that you may have; however, we have no obligation to notify you before we pay or return any item. The amount of any overdrafts plus our NSF and/or Overdraft (OD) Charge(s) that you owe us shall be due and payable upon demand.

All withdrawal transactions initiated for payment against your checking account(s) may be processed by us using your assigned Overdraft Privilege limit, including without limitation:

  • Checks and in-person withdrawals
  • ACH
  • Electronic Items
  • ATMs/Debit Card/Check Card
  • Internet/Online Banking (bill payment)
  • Telephone Banking transactions

Of course, overdrafts should never be used to finance ordinary or routine expenses and you should not rely on overdrafts to cover these expenses. If at any time you feel you need help with your financial obligations, please contact us at 855.383.4301.
