Business Banking Account Opening Checklist

Use the following checklist to simplify opening a new Emprise Bank business checking or savings account.

All Accounts

• Valid government-issued photo ID and social security number for each individual listed on the account
• Each individual’s ownership percentage in the company
• Phone number for the signer/owner
• Physical address for each signer/owner
• Physical and mailing address for the business 
• Phone number for the business
• Note: When entity documents are unable to be provided, a Certificate of Good Standing from the Secretary of State will be accepted.

Sole Proprietorship

• Social security number of the owner or Business EIN

Limited Liability Company

• Articles of Organization from the Secretary of State
• Operating Agreement (needed with multiple owners)

Partnership; General, Formal, Limited, Limited Liability

• Partnership Agreement signed by all the partners
  • Limited Partnership
    • Certificate of Limited Partnership filed with the Secretary of State
• Limited Liability Partnership
  • Statement of Qualification filed with the Secretary of State

Corporation

• Articles of Incorporation from the Secretary of State
• Documentation notating signers and signing authority (board meeting minutes)

Organization or Association

• Formal
  • By-laws
  • Documentation notating signers and signing authority (board meeting minutes)
  • Or Articles from the Secretary of State
• Informal
  • No entity documents required
